DOUBLEDAY – HOLBEACH

Formerly known as John W Doubleday Ltd, Doubleday Holbeach is the head office of the Group and is where the business began in the early 1970’s. John Doubleday, the founder of the company started manufacturing cultivation equipment in a small blacksmiths shop in the village of Holbeach St Johns. As the company and demand grew, the business was moved in 1972 to the depot where it is today and became a franchise of Ford Tractors.

John W Doubleday Ltd became John Deere dealers in 1982 and has since also formed strong relationships with other well known manufacturers such as Väderstad and Gregoire Besson.

The depot is situated just outside the village of Holbeach St Johns which is approximately 9 miles from the town of Spalding in South Lincolnshire. The depot holds the largest stock for the group of used machinery and is renowned nationally and worldwide for its large stocks of quality used machinery. We have a large, highly experienced professional team of service, parts and sales personnel, several of whom have been with the company for many years. Additional outlets were added with the purchase of Bourne Tractors in 1988 and Evergreen Tractors in 1999.

In 2010 the Doubleday Group were rewarded a larger trading area for the Väderstad franchise into North and East Lincolnshire. In November 2011 the company's John Deere trading area expanded further into the North of Lincolnshire. During 2012 the company will be opening a new depot to the West of Boston, Lincolnshire to serve this new area, in the meantime however the area will be serviced by the existing Holbeach and Bourne branch, with parts deliveries made available to customers on request.
