The Food and Farming day is the pinnacle of children’s educational events held at the East of England Showground, this happens annually just before the long summer school holiday, it is a chance for children to learn how crops are grown, meet some farm animals, take part in some fun activities all connected to farming, so on Friday 30th June the Showground hosted 5,500 children from over 50 primary schools across the Eastern region to celebrate all things associated with food and farming.

12 zones dedicated to educating children and teachers on all there is to know about food, farming and the countryside. From fish markets to alpaca petting, to seeing a real African village, children got the chance to get stuck into a range of interactive activities across the agricultural spectrum including grinding flour and cooking bread rolls in the Kids Country Kitchen, milking goats and cows, and taking part in demonstration vet surgeries.

The Doubleday group were very pleased to be invited along and take part in this fantastic event.
